Walrus Audio Canvas Expression Pedal

The Walrus Audio Canvas Expression reimagines the traditional expression pedal as a powerful control center for modern pedalboards, synthesizers, modular rigs, and desktop setups.

With two independently configurable outputs, each capable of functioning as an expression output, programmable switch, or control voltage source, Canvas Expression can control multiple pieces of gear at the same time. Add deep MIDI control over both 1/8" TRS MIDI and USB-C, and one pedal can take the place of several dedicated controllers.

Whether you’re sweeping delay parameters, changing amp channels, controlling a modular synth, switching presets, or automating software instruments and plugins, Canvas Expression gives you flexible control in one rugged, streamlined pedal.

Dual Independent Outputs

Output A and Output B can each be configured independently as:

• Control Voltage (CV) Output

That means one Canvas Expression can control two completely different devices simultaneously, even when those devices require different types of control.

Universal Expression Compatibility

Switch behavior can be customized for:

• Momentary or latching operation
• Heel, middle, or toe activation point

• Forward or reverse triggering

CV Control for Synths and Modular Gear

Canvas Expression can generate control voltage directly from either output, making it equally at home with synthesizers, Eurorack systems, and CV-enabled effects.

Selectable CV ranges:

• 0–3.3V
• 0–5V

Powerful MIDI Controller

Canvas Expression can send up to 16 independently assignable MIDI messages and control hardware and software simultaneously.

MIDI capabilities include:

• MIDI Control Change (CC)
• MIDI Program Change (PC)
• Independent TRS MIDI and USB MIDI outputs
• High-resolution 14-bit USB MIDI
• MIDI input for remotely enabling or disabling outputs

Canvas Expression Web Editor

Advanced setup can be handled through the Walrus Audio Canvas Expression web editor.

Use the editor to configure:

The pedal also supports onboard configuration for convenient adjustments without a computer.

Adjustable Treadle Feel

Canvas Expression allows you to customize the physical resistance of the treadle. A simple drag adjustment lets you choose a lighter or firmer sweep depending on your playing preference.
