Relive a synth legend with classic JUPITER sound, colorful hands-on control, and modern performance tools in a highly mobile design. Created to celebrate the JUPITER-8’s 45th anniversary, this compact Roland Boutique instrument takes inspiration from the original analog synthesizer’s sonic character and interface. The included K-25m keyboard dock and built-in speakers create a standalone mini-instrument for travel, desktop setups, and mobile rigs.

Roland’s latest technologies, refined voice allocation, and pitch behavior deliver a rich, animated playing experience with vintage-inspired character. Enhanced pitch fluctuation and other details bring movement to polyphonic sounds, while the hands-on panel keeps sound shaping immediate.

Increased polyphony

While previous Roland Boutique models had trimmed-down polyphony, the JUPITER-08 offers the complete eight-voice/two-part architecture of the mighty JUPITER-8. Players can access the same layered, split, and dual-part capabilities as the original, making this mini synth a highly capable tool for performance and composition.

Performance-oriented workflow

Dedicated controls and an intuitive interface support direct interaction in the studio and on stage. The Hold function leaves your hands free to experiment with sounds and performance controls.

Polyphonic sequencer and arpeggiator

Create basslines, chords, and melodic sequences with a two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer supporting up to eight notes per part and motion recording. Use the arpeggiator to craft dynamic, evolving patterns and rhythmic movement on the fly. User memory provides space for 240 sound patches and 96 patterns.

Expanded effects processing

Shape and enhance sounds with an MFX engine offering 17 effect types, plus dedicated delay and reverb with hall and shimmer types. The effects palette includes chorus, delay, overdrive, fuzz, drive, bit crusher, LOFI Comp, phaser, filter, and pitch shifting for tonal changes and spatial depth.

Connect to a modern production setup

A USB-C audio/MIDI interface connects with smartphones, tablets, and computers. Traditional MIDI input and output support other MIDI hardware, while the external clock input integrates with analog workflows. Stereo miniature phone jacks provide headphone output, audio output, and mix input.

Compact Roland Boutique design

Built-in speakers and flexible battery or USB bus power keep music creation portable. Use four AA alkaline batteries or compatible AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, or power the unit through USB-C. The included K-25m keyboard dock provides a compact playing surface; the DK-01 Boutique Dock is available separately.
