Built around the punch and growl of the 1990s and early-2000s StingRay, this 5-string pairs an ash body with an Alnico 5 Music Man Session humbucker and a three-band active preamp. Independent bass, middle and treble controls provide direct tone shaping for stage and studio.

A roasted maple neck with an oil-and-wax finish offers a smooth playing surface, joined to the body with a six-bolt attachment. The roasted maple fingerboard has an 11-inch radius and 22 frets. A compensated nut, Music Man Schaller open-gear tuners and Music Man Session designed bridge support accurate tuning and intonation. The five-string adds a low B and a three-way selector switch.

The Music Man Session Series is the flagship of the Sterling line, combining classic StingRay character with upgraded appointments. A premium Music Man Session gig bag is included.
