Limited Edition Analog Multi-Mode Modulation Pedal

Few guitarists have pushed effects as far—or made them as integral to their musical identity—as Adrian Belew. The Electro-Harmonix Adrian Belew Echoflanger brings back the legendary modulation pedal behind some of Belew’s most distinctive sounds, combining the character and extremes of the vintage EHX design with modern construction and expanded creative possibilities.

From lush, dimensional chorus and sweeping flange to slapback textures, fixed-filter sounds, vibrato, and wild self-oscillating modulation, the Echoflanger is built to move easily between the beautiful and the bizarre.

Six Modulation Modes

The Adrian Belew Echoflanger includes four classic modes from the original design:

Filter Matrix – freezes the modulation sweep for distinctive fixed-filter and comb-filter textures
Flange – classic sweeping analog flanging
Chorus – rich, dimensional modulation
Slap Back – short-delay textures with unmistakable vintage character

EHX also adds two combination modes inspired by Adrian Belew’s own experimentation with the original pedal:

Slap Back + Filter Matrix
Chorus + Flange – inspired by Belew’s discovery of an “in-between” setting on his vintage Echoflanger

From Subtle Movement to Sonic Chaos

A comprehensive control set lets you shape the modulation far beyond conventional chorus and flange sounds. Rate controls modulation speed, Width determines its overall range, and Tune shifts the center point of the modulation. The Feedback control can take the effect from subtle enhancement all the way into dramatic self-oscillation.

A dedicated Blend switch adds or removes the dry signal, opening the door to traditional chorus and flange effects as well as more intense pitch-modulated and vibrato-style sounds.

The reissued Echoflanger adds practical modern features including stereo outputs and true bypass with mechanical relays, while retaining the adventurous analog character that made the original such an important part of Belew’s sound.
