Natural optical compression and a flexible active EQ section combine in a compact pedal designed to function as a mastering stage for an entire effects chain. The all-analog Burr-Brown audio path retains the architecture and smooth response of Diamond's sought-after original compressor while adding broader tone shaping and attack control.

The Comp control sets the amount of optical compression, while Level provides output adjustment. Diamond's center-detent Tilt EQ acts like a tonal seesaw around 800 Hz, simultaneously balancing high and low frequencies across a ±6 dB range. The Mids control adds up to 10 dB of boost or cut at 800 Hz for more focused shaping.

An Attack toggle moves between Diamond's fast, snappy compression response and a softer, more transparent feel. Custom-spec optical components, relay-based true bypass, top-mounted connections, and operation from 9 to 18 volts make the pedal suitable for both compact boards and high-headroom setups.
