The BOSS Nextone Artist combines classic tube-inspired sound, feel, and response with the flexibility and reliability of modern BOSS amplification. Powered by advanced Tube Logic technology, this professional 80-watt 1x12 combo features four selectable analog Class AB power amp circuits that reproduce the distinctive characteristics of classic 6V6, 6L6, EL84, and EL34 output stages.

Rather than simply changing the tonal character with an EQ curve, selecting a different power amp type re-voices the Nextone's response throughout the circuit, providing the dynamic feel, compression, headroom, and breakup associated with these classic amplifier designs.

Four Classic Power Amp Characters

A dedicated front-panel selector lets you instantly choose among four iconic power amp types:

• 6V6: Sweet, crisp character with organic compression inspired by classic lower-powered American amps
• 6L6: Punchy, full-bodied response with generous headroom and rounded mids
• EL84: Glassy clean chime that transitions into rich, creamy overdrive
• EL34: Warm, powerful British-inspired character with classic rock crunch

Clean and Lead Channels with Custom Modes

The Nextone Artist features dedicated Clean and Lead channels with a shared three-band EQ and Presence control. Boost and Tone switches provide quick access to additional gain and sparkle, while Custom mode offers alternate factory-tuned versions of both channels.

For even deeper control, connect the amplifier to the free Nextone Editor for macOS or Windows. The editor provides access to extensive behind-the-scenes parameters including tone stack characteristics, bias, sag, headroom, effects, Character Shape, system settings, and more, allowing you to fine-tune the amplifier's behavior to match your playing style.

Built-In Effects and Flexible Power Control

Built-in delay, tremolo, and reverb provide essential effects without requiring additional pedals, while the dedicated effects loop makes it easy to integrate your existing pedalboard.

BOSS's responsive Power Control lets you enjoy the expressive feel and response of a driven amplifier at more manageable volume levels. Selectable settings include 0.5 watt, Half, and Max, and with current Nextone system software the lowest setting can also be configured for 0.2-watt operation.

With 80 watts of output and a custom 12-inch speaker, the Nextone Artist has the power and projection for serious performance use. External speaker outputs support additional cabinets, while Line Out and phones/recording connections make direct operation easy.

USB connectivity turns the Nextone Artist into a direct recording interface for your DAW. Multi-channel USB operation can capture both a cabinet-emulated amplifier signal and a dry direct signal, allowing the original performance to be re-amped later. Three selectable Air Feel settings in the Nextone Editor provide different mic'd-cabinet characters for direct recording and performance.
