The BOSS AC-22LX brings a new dimension to compact acoustic amplification. Combining a 10-watt stereo power amp with two custom 5-inch twin-cone speakers and advanced BOSS spatial processing, the AC-22LX delivers natural, immersive acoustic sound from an exceptionally portable amplifier.

At the heart of the AC-22LX is innovative Air Feel technology, which transforms the typically dry sound of an acoustic instrument pickup by recreating the depth, dimension, and natural resonance associated with classic stereo microphone techniques. Simply connect your acoustic-electric guitar or other pickup-equipped acoustic instrument and select the Air Feel setting that complements your playing style.

Five Air Feel Settings

The AC-22LX provides five selectable Air Feel types, allowing you to quickly shape the spatial character of your amplified instrument:

• Dry: Direct, unprocessed pickup sound
• XY: Recreates a focused coincident-pair stereo microphone technique
• AB: Recreates a wide spaced-pair microphone setup with expanded acoustic resonance
• ORTF: Provides a spacious and naturally balanced stereo presentation
• Mid-Side: Recreates the distinctive depth and stereo character of a mid-side microphone configuration

Dedicated Guitar and Microphone Channels

The Guitar/Instrument channel features dedicated Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble controls along with the Air Feel selector and dedicated Reverb/Reverb & Chorus processing.

A separate Mic channel features a professional XLR input with 48V phantom power, dedicated Volume, Bass and Treble controls, and its own Reverb effect. This makes the AC-22LX an excellent self-contained amplification system for singer-guitarists and other acoustic performers.

Rhythm Box, Looper, and Memories

The onboard Rhythm Box provides 15 ready-to-use patterns for practice and performance. Connect the AC-22LX to the free editor software to access and customize from 119 available pattern selections.

A built-in looper further expands the creative possibilities and can be controlled with an optional compatible footswitch. The AC-22LX also provides 15 memories for storing and instantly recalling your favorite sound setups.

Recording, Livestreaming, and Playback

The AC-22LX is equally useful away from the stage. Its integrated USB audio interface provides a convenient connection to a computer for recording and livestreaming, complete with a Loopback function. Stereo Line outputs carry the spacious Air Feel sound to a PA, mixer, or recording system, while a stereo Aux input lets you connect a music player and perform along with backing tracks.

Portable Power

Despite its sophisticated stereo sound and extensive features, the AC-22LX weighs just 8 lb. 14 oz. and can operate from the included AC adapter or eight AA batteries. Battery operation provides approximately eight hours with alkaline batteries or up to approximately ten hours with suitable rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, making the amp an excellent choice for mobile performance and practice.
