The Aclam Windmiller Preamp is inspired by Pete Townshend's unconventional use of vintage Grampian spring reverb units as a tone-shaping and amplifier-driving tool during the mid-1960s. Rather than using the units for reverb, Townshend pushed their preamp circuits to drive his amplifiers harder, creating the powerful, dynamic sound that helped define an era of British rock.

Aclam carefully studied this unique approach and transformed it into a highly versatile preamp pedal that captures the character, response, and musicality of the original concept while providing modern reliability and flexibility.

The Windmiller excels as an always-on tone enhancer, a transparent boost, or a way to push an amplifier into rich harmonic saturation.
